MEET OUR NEWEST RESIDENTS CHESTER, SHIRLEY, CANDY, CORN & EIGHT PARAKEETS!

CHESTER, the potbelly pig, is a Super Senior who was in great need of pain meds for his crippled legs, a healthy diet, sunshine and some love and attention. He’s now getting hand-fed, hydrated and enjoying laying in the sun!

SHIRLEY, the sheep, was found as a “stray”, she ended up in the shelter where she declined for a month with no one claiming her. We did and now she’s improving and not on anyone’s dinner plate!

Chickens CANDY and CORN, were one day away from being dinner, now they’re happy and safe forever.

And, the PARAKEETS needed a forever home and got one at Golden Years Animal Sanctuary!

WHAT’S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN AN ANIMAL RESCUE AND AN ANIMAL SANCTUARY, LIKE GOLDEN YEARS? “A rescue typically focuses on a certain type of animal, takes in unwanted, abandoned, abused, or stray animals and tries to find homes for them. A sanctuary generally has a variety of animals who are unlikely to find a forever home, so they are able to live out their lives surrounded by comfort and all the care they require and desire until their natural death.”
